South Lakeland Local Forum

We invite all third sector groups* in South Cumbria to our next Local Forum; an important event for anyone interested in finding out about local issues and working with other groups and organisations to find local solutions; feeding back on our services; having a voice and being linked in to the sector.
A Health and Wellbeing Forum for South Lakes is being set up to support the work of the County Level Health and Wellbeing Board to ensure the needs and unique characteristics of the area are reflected in its plans. It will provide an opportunity for those in South Lakes to reflect on the Health and Wellbeing needs of the community and formulate a plan to ensure local collaborative and creative processes are used for identifying and working on solutions to South Lakeland issues.
This event will update on developments and provide the chance to select a representative to be on the Forum to represent the Third Sector alongside Cumbria CVS.
A South Lakeland network is being established by Cumbria CVS to support South Lakeland organisations to take advantage of new funding to:
• learn and benefit from shared experience
• learn from others’ skills and knowledge
• increase their organisations’ reach and effectiveness through joint promotions
• increase the effectiveness of the publicising of events, services and activities locally
• benefit from shared capacity building and organisational development training
• develop formal and informal joint working opportunities and, potentially, funding bids
In the face of diminishing resources and capacities for our sector, and demand for services increasing, we’ve news of support and funding to develop collaborative working.
There will also be other updates on the area; new funding programmes, news of Cumbria CVS services and activities, and a chance for attendees to the event to exchange news and updates.
It’s a packed agenda and we look forward to seeing you.
