NORTH CUMBRIA NHS area – Frailty Strategy – third sector Next Steps workshop (in-person) Thursday 20.02.2025 10am to 1pm Cumbria CVS office, Shaddongate, Carlisle CA2 5TY

Cumbria CVS and Cumbria Action for Health are working with Age UK to run an event for our sector to discuss the strategy and next steps.

We want to use the opportunity to consider some of the following:

• How can our sector be best represented during discussions and delivery planning
• If given the opportunity would our sector want to lead on one of the key priority areas (see below) & how would we want to do this
• What sort of resources would our sector need to enable us to be an active lead/partner in this work (not just funding)
• What is our sector delivering in partnership with the system that works well to support the needs of frail people and how can we do more
• What are the blocks to our sector delivering more and new services for frail people

North Cumbria NHS area has a NEW Frailty Strategy. The strategy seeks to deliver a vision that the people of North Cumbria live healthier, happier and longer lives.

The strategy details ambitions to be delivered by our integrated care system in North Cumbria supported by 4 key priorities:

•              Prevention of frailty

•              Identification of frailty

•              Management of frailty

•              Workforce
