First Aid Awareness Training for Volunteers

This training is aimed at volunteers who support local organisations to enhance skills and knowledge. The course will equip them with an understanding of First Aid Awareness and cover a range of content including: responding to common incidents like choking, bleeding and cardiac arrest, the role of a first aider, assessment of incidents, dealing with an unresponsive casualty and dealing with minor injuries. This course is always very popular so please book early to ensure a space. Please note that this event is aimed at volunteers supporting the work of organisations who are members of Cumbria CVS across Westmorland and Furness. We are unable to offer places for paid members of staff

This First Aid Awareness Training is a course is for volunteers, and will cover a range of content, including: responding to common incidents like choking, bleeding and cardiac arrest, the role of a first aider, assessment of incidents, dealing with an unresponsive casualty and dealing with minor injuries. Using real life scenarios tailored to specific challenges those attending will gain practical hands-on experience.

This will be a practical course: please wear comfortable clothing which allows you to get down onto the floor for the practical exercises.

Places are available for a maximum of 2 volunteers per organisation.

Please arrive at 9.15am for coffee and registration, training starts 9.30am.

This event is part of our This Is Us project, made possible by Westmorland and Furness Council through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Priority for bookings will be given to those volunteers supporting organisations in Westmorland and Furness which are Cumbria CVS Members.

Eligibility Statement:
This course is exclusively for individuals and organizations within the voluntary sector in Cumbria, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, many sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations. Bookings from those outside this sector may not be accepted, If you are from outside the sector or want to check if you can book a place please contact  via info@cumbriacvs.org.uk
