Thank you, volunteers!

Our Volunteering Manager, Judith Smale, shares her enthusiasm for Volunteers’ Week, which takes place between 1-7 June each year:

Volunteers' Week logo“It’s a great opportunity to raise the profile of volunteering and to recruit, recognise and reward our amazing volunteers here in Cumbria. I am truly passionate about the amazing work volunteers do and so thankful for all that they do for our local communities.

I am very fortunate to do the job I do in being able to work with so many amazing charities and organisations and being able to support their recruitment. I also get to work with people every day who are all truly inspiring! Being able to reach out and encourage more people to become volunteers is something I love doing!

This is why I am so excited that we are finally back with face-to-face Volunteering Fairs as part of Volunteers’ Week 2022. They are a great opportunity to meet local organisations and find out about local volunteering opportunities.

We have a fantastic team of volunteers so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all. Our team are involved in Digital and Admin, Cancer Support, Ground Maintenance as well as supporting our BBO Team. A huge big thank you also to all our amazing trustees too!

Finally please don’t forget to spread the word about our Volunteering Fairs and Volunteering in Cumbria. One of our Digital Volunteers, Jonny, created a video to showcase the fantastic work done by volunteers during the pandemic, which also highlights that more volunteers are needed for so many different charities and organisations. If you haven’t watched it yet then it’s definitely worth a look! And if you can share the link on your social media this really would help to raise the profile of volunteering in Cumbria!

Let’s Celebrate Volunteering in Cumbria – Happy Volunteers’ Week 2022!”
