From 1st September 2026, changes under the Crime and Policing Act 2026 will remove the supervision exemption from the definition of regulated activity with children. This means some unpaid roles, including volunteering activities such as teaching, training, caring for, instructing or supervising children, may count as regulated activity even when the volunteer is supervised.
