Supporting Barrow’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector to Thrive

We want to help voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations delivering activities and services in Barrow to thrive. This project is designed to support groups of all sizes to build their resilience, strengthen their sustainability and create new opportunities to work together for the benefit of local communities.

Whether you are looking to secure funding, develop your organisation, connect with other groups or explore new ways of delivering services, we can help. Through tailored support, training opportunities, funding events and practical guidance, organisations will be better equipped to demonstrate their impact, grow their capacity and plan confidently for the future.

A key part of the project is bringing people together. We will create opportunities for local groups to meet, share ideas, learn from one another and explore collaborative approaches that make the best use of resources. This could include developing partnerships, sharing services such as finance or administration, and working together to deliver projects that have a greater impact across the community.

The project will also continue to support and develop the Furness for You website, a trusted local resource used by residents, social prescribers and community organisations to find services, activities and support across the area.

Our dedicated Officers are based in Barrow, ensuring we remain connected to local organisations and responsive to local needs. Funded by, and working closely with, Team Barrow partners and the wider VCFSE sector, we will shape activities around what matters most to local groups.

Above all, this project is about strengthening connections, supporting local organisations and creating a vibrant, collaborative VCFSE sector that can continue making a real difference to communities across Barrow.
