New support for South Copeland

My name is Kat Hercberg, and I am the new South Copeland Development Officer with Cumbria CVS. I support communities across the area from Thwaites to Drigg, including Millom, Bootle, Corney, Eskdale, and the Duddon Valley.

I bring a strong commercial background within the charity sector and have experience both as a volunteer and in managing volunteers. Having grown up in South Copeland, I understand the unique opportunities and challenges that come with living and working in this beautiful, yet isolated, part of Cumbria.

I am passionate about supporting groups that are strengthening community resilience, creating positive local impact, and planning for a sustainable future. I work with voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise organisations to help them achieve their goals through:

• Identifying and accessing appropriate funding opportunities
• Supporting grant applications
• Business planning and development
• Recruiting, developing, and retaining volunteers
• Facilitating training and skills development
• Creating networking opportunities and community outreach through events.

Whether you’re a sports club seeking funding for new equipment, a community organisation planning building improvements, or a charity looking to recruit volunteers, I would be delighted to hear from you to discuss how I can help.

Please feel free to get in touch at kat.hercberg@cumbriacvs.org.uk or 07356156504 (I work Tuesdays and Thursdays)

I look forward to working with you and supporting the fantastic communities across South Copeland.
