New portal to make finding funding easier for charities in Cumbria

A new online portal is set to make searching for Government, National Lottery and charitable trust funding simple for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises delivering services in Cumbria.

This new Cumbria CVS 4 Community self-service portal will make it easy for groups to search for funding for specific activities or services by category, geographic area and more once they have registered. Supported by a user guide and ‘how to’ videos, the portal will allow organisations to access vital funding opportunities directly.

Success stories can also be added, encouraging others to use the system and allowing the funded organisations to share their good news.

To access the portal, follow this link to register: https://funding.idoxopen4community.co.uk/cumbriacvs

The portal forms part of a range of support available from the new This Is Us project, thanks to funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund via Westmorland and Furness Council.

It will deliver place-based support to organisations and volunteers to enhance volunteering opportunities in Westmorland and Furness, while supporting those organisations to thrive through training and 1:1 sessions in capacity building, governance and sustainability.

Amongst these events is the Eden Funding Fair on 24 April in Penrith. This is a fantastic opportunity for small voluntary and community groups to speak directly to Funders about their project to obtain funding.

We also have an online Design for Wiser Action Funding Bid Writing Workshop beforehand on 9 April, and an online Post Event Reflection Workshop on 30 April to help you finalise your funding bid application based on feedback received during the funding fair.
