Meet our new colleagues

Cumbria CVS has welcomed more new members to the team over the last six months, all bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.

We extend a warm welcome to:

Elizabeth Irving
Administration Officer

Elizabeth has a background in administration and customer service, working for many years at Cumbrian Cottages, dealing with owner enquiries. More recently she has worked at Carlisle College helping students secure work experience opportunities. She will be providing administrative support across the organisation.

Danny Smith
Third Sector Referral Co-ordinator

Danny worked in the fitness industry for nearly 10 years before joining us, and his knowledge of physical health will benefit him in his role with us. This is his first journey into both the third Sector and, as a result of having an honorary contract, the NHS. He currently volunteers with political/activist organisations like Make Votes Matter, Compass, and XR. He has also previously held the role of Constituency Labour Party Secretary for Penrith and The Border, and is a current serving Penrith Town Councillor.

Beresford Moyle Rosser
South Copeland Development Officer

Berry will be supporting voluntary organisations with trustee and volunteer recruitment and retention, training needs and grant applications or finding sources for funding  projects. With a background in hospitality – hotels and airlines – when he turned 60 he decided to devote himself to the social sector working with asylum seekers, young people and adults with mental health difficulties. Outside of work, Berry is a keen walker, likes to keep fit and enjoys cooking and is actively involved in voluntary work in Millom supporting a group who hosts 50 people for a community lunch once a month.

We also welcome Charles Watt, Jon Rush, Sonny Smith and Linda Vance to our Board of Trustees– you can find out more about them here

And we say farewell to colleagues Mary Wood, Chandini Graham, Julie Sharkey, Lisa Nicholson, Nat Wealleans-Turner, Sophie Crozier, Bev Chandler, Cathy Hunter, Stella Sukram, Kate Rees and from our Trustee team, Lee Martin-White and Joanne Boulmer, who have left us this year.

Our sincere thanks go to them all for all their hard work and support during their time with us, and we wish them all the best for the future.
