Barrow children’s posters to promote Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

Seventy children, from five secondary schools in the Barrow area, have created posters promoting “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind” as part of the Inspiring Barrow Kickstart Programme.

Children work on poster ideas at a tableThe programme works with children who have been identified by schools to be in need of assistance in improving self-confidence, communication skills, self-efficacy, self-esteem and team work.

Year 8 pupils embarked on the programme  in January with children from Walney School, Furness Academy, St Bernard’s Catholic High School, Dowdales School and Ulverston Victoria High School participating. Tasked with creating community posters to inform and help others, each school focused on different aspects of the theme. Their ideas and poster mock-ups will be professionally designed by Oxley Developments Ltd and displayed across the Furness area in schools, universities, doctors surgeries, police stations, and with other youth providers.

The poster campaign will be launched at a Year 8 celebration evening on March 25th at the Forum in Barrow.
