Cumbria CVS is a registered charity and membership organisation. We help community/voluntary/not-for-profit groups and organisations to develop and improve by providing training and services that can be 1:1 support, funding advice, bespoke training, or through our regular training courses. We help place volunteers, and work with groups that involve volunteers to follow best practice.
A new online portal is set to make searching for Government, National Lottery and charitable trust funding simple for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises delivering services in Cumbria. The self-service portal will make it easy for groups to search for funding for specific activities or services by category, geographic area and more.
Thursday 18 April at Eskdale Village Hall. If you are an organisation or local voluntary group and are needing advice on obtaining grants or funds to help your cause or are looking for volunteers or trustees to join your group then, then Berry might be able to help you!
Eden Funding Fair – 24 April, Penrith. A fantastic opportunity for small voluntary and community groups to speak directly to Funders about their project to obtain funding.
Furness For You – Lunch and Learn: Tues 23 April, Barrow. This session aims to attract those that are feeling lonely, chronically isolated or anyone interested in finding out more about the Furness For You project and how it could help support you or someone you know.
County Volunteering Network Meeting – Weds 1st May, Penrith. For Volunteer Managers in Cumbria or anyone responsible for recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers to come together to spread good practice in volunteer management.
South Lakes Volunteering Network Meeting – Thursday 28 March. This is a network meeting for Volunteer Managers in South Lakeland or anyone who is responsible for recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers to come together to spread good practice and strengthen volunteering across the area.
Safeguarding Adults at Risk Training for Managers – Thursday 18 April, in Kendal. This full day course is for managers who have a role that includes responsibility for safeguarding in their organisation.
Safeguarding Adults at Risk level 1 Training, Tuesday 16 April, in Barrow. Designed to help build understanding of safeguarding duties & responsibilities for volunteers & aimed at those involved in the care or support of someone who could be at risk of harm.
Charity Trustee Induction & Refresher – 12 April, online. Understand what governance and trusteeship are, know who trustees are – what they do and their personal liabilities and protection available. Useful for anyone who’s new to governance and trusteeship, or existing trustees and senior staff who would benefit from a refresher course.
