Closing date for applications:

Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service (CADAS) have an exciting vacancy for a family support worker in the west of the county.

Our family worker will support the whole family over an extended period (up to 6 months) when they are referred to us because of parental substance use and its effect on the family, especially the children.

We are looking for someone passionate about working in West Cumbrian communities and with the skills to support all members of a family, from parents and caregivers to teens and primary school aged children.

The role will be based in our Workington office, with most of the work taking place out in the community. The role covers the whole of West Cumbria from Millom to Silloth. The successful applicant will be required to travel independently within this area.

The salary for this 7.5 hour role is £4196.40pa. Whilst this is a fixed term contract of 12 months, we are hoping this pilot is so successful that it is continued.

As a contemporary employer we would be happy to discuss a more flexible approach to hours and working times as part of the selection process.

This is a “regulated” position and you would be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with a vetting and barring check for both the adult and the children’s workforce.

If you would like to talk to someone about the post, you can call our North and West Manager Emma Spedding on 07745 266 555.
