ADVERTISEMENT FOR TRUSTEE APPOINTMENT

Animal Rescue Cumbria was founded in 1972 and operates from a site just north of Kendal in Cumbria.  Over the years, this small Charity has established an excellent reputation for animal care, taking in and re-homing over 300 cats and dogs each year.

The Board of Trustees plays a key role in the functioning and success of the Charity.  It sets the overall strategic direction and provides scrutiny of our processes and decisions.  It ensures standards of governance are upheld, and assesses business development, risk management, performance management and internal controls.  The Board of Trustees is key to ensuring sustainability of the Charity and fulfilment of our charitable objectives.

The Charity is now looking for a number of new Trustees to help strengthen and diversify our Board.  We are keen to hear from people from a variety of backgrounds, but specifically we are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Fundraising, including Grant and Trust applications.
  • Estate Management.
  • Capital Projects.
  • Accounting and Finance.
  • Animal Welfare and Veterinary.
  • Law
  • Governance / Holding a trustee role within a charity.
  • Small Business Ownership, including HRM.
  • Planning

The role of Trustee is voluntary, but Trustees may claim out-of-pocket expenses.
