Third Sector Representative for Cumbria LEP
Organisation: Cumbria Third Sector Network
Closing date for applications: 9 Jan 2019
Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (Cumbria LEP) is the strategic body through which Cumbria-wide economic activities, priorities and objectives are supported and coordinated. It is a business-led partnership between the public and private sectors, with responsibility for steering growth strategically in local communities.
Cumbria LEP is planning to appoint a third sector (voluntary, community and social enterprise sector) representative to its Board.
The selection for the position will be carried through Cumbria Third Sector Network (which includes Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership as one of its specialist networks) who will then nominate the successful individual as LEP Board member.
The third sector representative on the Cumbria LEP Board will need to fulfil the requirements of a Private Sector member of the Board. This means that the individual must hold a strategic position (senior staff or trustee) within an organisation registered with Companies House (for example, a Charitable Company).
They will also be required to undertake the roles required all members of the Cumbria LEP Board, which are detailed in the role description, and to maintain a strong link to Cumbria Third Sector Network’s Executive group in order that they are able to represent the views of Cumbria’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
