Carlisle Foodbank is looking for a Manager to be responsible for the efficient running of its operation at Nisi Prius building, the Citadel, English Street, Carlisle.

The Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and development of the Food Bank. Organising the distribution of food, management of volunteers and liaison with our Partners.

The successful applicant for this challenging post will be committed to Carlisle Foodbank values and its determination to provide compassionate, practical support to those in crisis in Carlisle. The candidate should be willing to work with a wide range of community groups, local businesses, and volunteers, and will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, preferably supported by relevant previous management experience.

This is a 16 hour a week post paying £9.25 an hour. We would expect you to cover service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 12 – 3pm and attend the monthly Board meeting.

The remainder of the hours would be spent on administration, coordination of food collections, and in liaison with volunteers, Statutory Agencies and Partners as necessary for effective operations management.
