An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team based in Wigton.

 

We are a local community provider  of support for adults with learning disabilities, supporting individuals  throughout Cumbria and have a turnover in excess of £1m.

As we embark on a new phase in our journey, we are looking for an enthusiastic person to take a lead financial role within the organisation.

We are looking for someone who is committed to continuous improvement and who wishes to be an integral part of the strategic management of our team.  You will attend Board Meetings, present reports and be able to demonstrate how the finance function can bring real benefits to the organisation.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for a small team, providing effective management, support and  training, with clear  leadership and financial advice to support our  strategic development.  We are looking for a self-motivated person who inspires others and is an effective communicator.

Duties include the overall responsibility for our Annual Accounts, preparation of management accounts, effective budgeting and strategic planning. We use the Sage Accounting Package, so previous experience of this is useful.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have an accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA) or be working towards being fully qualified
  • Be a driven, motivated person with a proactive approach to work
  • Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills together with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Be able to demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate to all levels
  • Have meticulous attention to detail and enjoy working to tight deadlines.
