Citizens Advice Allerdale has two exciting new vacancies to provide high quality information, advice and guidance to foodbank users. These posts are being delivered in partnership with North Lakes Foodbank, supported by the Trussell Trust, to provide advice and support to individuals at risk of financial destitution and hardship.
The adviser will help people to maximise their incomes, manage their money and reduce their need for foodbank support. You will be able to offer advice and assistance to clients on a range of enquiry areas including: Benefits, Debt, Housing and Employment, referring to specialist support as required.

The role is part of a new 2 year project (in the first instance) funded by the Community Mental Health Transformation Fund, supported by the NHS North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (the CCG). The Step Forward into Volunteering and Employment Project aims to support individuals with Serious Mental Health Experiences find and retain employment and find a path to paid employment via volunteering. The project aims to promote self-esteem, overall wellbeing as well as financial independence, to aid in their recovery and minimize their needs for primary and secondary mental health services. The role is to provide administration and customer service support for the project, to help develop publicity and communication materials, organise events and support follow up work for monitoring and reporting purposes.

Overview
The group supports isolated and/or vulnerable individuals within the community of Kendal an
surrounds. The coordinator’s role is to recruit, retain and train volunteers to enable the group to
respond to requests for help or an emergency situation. Kendal Resilience Group was formed to
work with the Kendal Community in circumstances prior to an emergency and ensure residents
have as much notice as possible to prepare for a situation that is likely to have a sudden and
adverse impact on their homes. A community emergency plan has been developed and can be
used during an emergency situation. The group is now working on a year round Neighborliness
agenda
