Living with and Beyond Cancer Workshop and Launch

In Cumbria, 2,600 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. The improvement of cancer outcomes is one of the highest priorities nationally and locally and improving outcomes involves a number of different strands.

This innovative and exciting launch event will bring together a range of partners to explore opportunities to work together to develop and deliver support and services to meet the needs of people living with and beyond cancer.  It will provide a great opportunity to showcase the services already available, help identify gaps in provision and explore ways of developing an information resource on services that is accurate, accessible and up to date.

The day will have also a focus on how the project can support volunteers to effectively work alongside health professionals carrying out Holistic Needs Assessments to ensure that cancer patients have access to all elements of the Recovery Package and to the support they need.

Who should attend this event:

  • GP Practices
  • Specialist and Practice Nurses
  • Voluntary and community sector organisations who either currently support people with cancer and their carers or who feel their services could contribute to better outcomes
  • Cancer Support Groups
  • Those involved in other areas of Living with and Beyond Cancer programme

We hope that you will join us at this Free event. Come along and network with other partners, showcase your services and enjoy a healthy lunch prepared by local chef, John Crouch.
