October marks the first anniversary of Rebuilding Together – a £1 million package to help Cumbrian communities become more resilient, led by Cumbria CVS and delivered in partnership with Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS) and Action with Communities in Cumbria (ACT).
The package has supported a good number of local communities and organisations to be better prepared and further activity is planned for the coming year.
As we now approach the wet season, and indeed have already seen flooding in Millom, it’s time to think again about our preparedness and what we need to do if an event occurs.
The Millom community has been fantastic, and very effective in organising help and support for those affected during the flooding and over the few days since; a response that is becoming a feature of our local communities.
If you would like further information on the Rebuilding Together programme, including upcoming Business Continuity sessions, and what you can be doing to be better prepared this winter, please contact Carolyn Otley in the first instance on 01768 800350.
