Living With and Beyond Cancer – Cancer Chat Cafe
November 28, 2019
The Wild Zucchini Bistro, 17 Station Road, Cockermouth, has kindly offered to host the first session of the Cancer Chat Group on Thursday 5 December 2019 at 3pm. Having a diagnosis of cancer can be devastating, isolating, stressful and terrifying but getting together with others who are facing the same issues can help. Being part of a group can create a sense of belonging that helps each person feel more understood and less alone.
At the first get-together we want to find out what people would like in terms of further sessions either group meetings or something more individual. The idea stems from the Chatty café initiative https://thechattycafescheme.co.uk/ where people can meet up with others with the aim of reducing isolation in a friendly and welcoming way.
Anyone with a cancer diagnosis or their loved ones are very welcome to come along. For more information contact Jane at Cumbria CVS 01768 800350.
