To promote, encourage and stimulate educational interest and knowledge of local history studies in Cumbria. To provide a liaison between organisations and to keep individuals advised of local history events and activities. To develop a framework of mutual support and advice on sources, techniques, publications and research. |

Publication of a regular bulletin and other papers. To run an annual Convention. To run events To direct Members to appropriate sources to aid research and increase knowledge. To encourage the exchange of information and ideas. |
