Cumbria CVS – Defence Employers Recognition Scheme – Bronze Award

‘Exemplo Ducemus’

Due to our ongoing commitment within Cumbria CVS to support the Armed Forces since 2013 when we signed the Armed Forces Covenant, we are proud to say that we have been successful in our application for the MOD Defence Employers Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award. Our most recent ‘Forces Link – Carlisle and Eden’ project has been based at Cumbria CVS since July 2019 and has been working hard to increase and improve support for our local ex-service community and their families, through outreach and bringing organisations together in our Cumbria Ex-Service Supporters Network.

Roadmap out of Lockdown
We moved to the first step of the Roadmap on 8 March, with the most obvious change being that children returned to school.  On Monday 29 March, the rules were relaxed once again to allow six people (or larger groups from only 2 households) to meet outdoors and we are now moving towards a further easing of restrictions next Monday 12 April 2021 with the opening of non-essential retails shops and the opening of hospitality (outside only).
