We’re hosting a large West Cumbria Volunteering Fair for anyone interested in volunteering.

A range of different charities and organisations will be attending to showcase the many different opportunities available.

Local people are encouraged to come along and speak directly with them to find out more, and how they can sign up to volunteer and make a difference in their local community.

Organisations attending the event include:

  • West Cumbria Rivers Trust
  • NYAS – National Youth Advocacy Service
  • Family Action
  • Samaritans of West Cumbria

  • Senhouse Roman Museum
  • Cumbria County Council Voluntary Transport

Volunteering not only benefits communities, individuals, and the environment but is an extremely rewarding experience for those who offer to help. It’s a way of learning new skills, helps boost confidence and, evidence suggests, it has a positive impact on health, counteracting the effects of stress and anxiety. It also helps to widen social networks and make volunteers feel part of a team and their community.

We are attending to provide advice and information on other local volunteering opportunities.

Interested in volunteering in West Cumbria? Then please drop into the Carnegie Theatre any time from 11am-12.30pm.

Alternatively to volunteer please contact Cumbria CVS on 01768 800350, email: info@cumbriacvs.org.uk
