Introduction to Business Continuity Planning for the Voluntary Sector

Cumbria CVS is offering the opportunity for interested local groups and organisations to attend an Introduction to Business Continuity Planning session over the next few months. As part of the Rebuilding Together programme – £1million Big Lottery funded programme to help local communities, people and organisations to become more resilient – Cumbria CVS will run sessions in Carlisle (16 November 2017), Kendal (1 February 2018) and Cockermouth (date tbc).

The sessions
What would you do if your building was destroyed by fire? Or if your organisation was unable to open up for a week because of floods or snow?
Your organisation could fail because of something that’s not your fault or that’s beyond your control.

This introductory session aims to make continuity planning accessible and understandable and will focus on:

  • identifying the critical functions of your organisation
  • how you manage a potential crisis
  • how you can deal with recovery

The sessions are Free and will be useful for staff, members or trustees of small and medium sized voluntary and community organisations. Tools and resources will be available to take away and share with colleagues.

Further details are in the CVS Events and Training section of this Ebulletin or on our website: www.cumbriacvs.org.uk/training

If you are unable to attend these sessions or would like any additional support relating to continuity planning, not just for flood but fire and other risks too, Cumbria CVS would be happy to provide support.
